A Complete BASIC Guide to Growing in NLS Living Soil 10 Easy Steps

Hey there, fellow cannabis enthusiasts! So you want to grow your own plants using Nature's Living Soil? Well, you're in for a treat! Growing with living soil is not only eco-friendly, but it also gives you healthier plants, more bountiful yields, and better tasting buds. We're here to guide you through the whole process, from seed to harvest. Remember, we've got your back every step of the way!

1. First things first, let's gather everything you'll need:

• Top-notch cannabis seeds

• Nature's Living Soil Concentrate (Original, Autoflower, or Vegan)

• Organic potting soil

• Planting containers (at least 3-gallon size; go for 7 gallons if you want to grow from seed to harvest using just water)

• Watering can or system

• Grow lights (for indoor growing)

• pH meter

• Moisture meter

• Thermometer and hygrometer

• Ventilation system (for indoor growing)

• Pruning shears

• Drying racks

2. Time to germinate your seeds:

• Give your seeds a 12-24 hour soak in a glass of water, or until they sink.

• Pop them between moist paper towels and stash them in a warm, dark spot.

• Check daily for taproots; once they're ¼-½ inch long, they're ready to plant.

• Keep the seeds cozy in a dark, warm place with a temp of 70-80°F (21-27°C) and humidity of 70-90% to help germination.

3a. Setting up your containers and living soil - Living Soil Method:

• Choose a high-quality soil mix as your base, like Coco Loco or any other organic soil with good drainage and aeration.
• Add 3.2 ounces of Natures Living Soil concentrate per gallon of container volume
• Thoroughly mix the concentrate with the base soil in a large container or wheelbarrow to make your super soil mix.
• Fill your container with the concentrate/base soil mix.

• Make a small hole in the center, about the size of a party-size red solo cup, and fill it with regular potting soil (without NLS concentrate). This creates a buffer zone between the seedling and the nutrient-rich soil.

• Dig a little ¼-½ inch deep hole in the buffer zone.

• Carefully place the germinated seed in the hole, taproot facing down, cover with soil, and water gently.

3b. Or, setting up your containers and living soil - Super Soil Method:

• Choose a high-quality soil mix as your base, like Coco Loco or any other organic soil with good drainage and aeration.

• Add 3.2 ounces of Natures Living Soil concentrate per gallon of container volume

(e.g., 1 pound for a 5-gallon pot).

• Thoroughly mix the concentrate with the base soil in a large container or wheelbarrow to make your super soil mix.

• Fill the bottom third of your pot with the super soil mix, creating a nutrient reservoir for your plant roots.

• Fill the top two-thirds of your pot with the base soil only, which prevents nutrient burn and lets your plants grow in a milder soil environment.
• Plant you seed, seedling or transplant

4. Get your lighting and temperature just right:

• For indoor growers, set up your grow lights based on the needs of your specific

strain.

• Keep temps at 68-77°F (20-25°C) during vegging and 64-75°F (18-24°C) during flowering.

• Aim for humidity levels of 40-60% during vegging and 40-50% during flowering.

5. Water those babies and keep an eye on pH levels:

• Use de-chlorinated water with a pH of 6.0-7.0 (shoot for 6.5).

• Don't over-water; let the top inch of soil dry before watering again.

• As your plants grow, they'll need more water, so adjust accordingly.

• A moisture meter can help you keep an eye on soil moisture.

• Consider adding SOIL REVIVAL (by Nature’s Living Soil) to your watering routine.

6. Vegetative growth stage:

• Give your plants 18-24 hours of light daily.

• Keep monitoring temperature, humidity, and pH levels.

• Use compost tea or top-dress with Nature's Living Soil concentrates as needed for extranutrients.

Seedling stage: Keep temps at 68-77°F (20-25°C) and humidity at 65-70%. Gradually lower humidity as seedlings grow.

Vegetative stage: Keep temps at 70-85°F (21-29°C) and humidity at 40-70%. The sweet spot is around 75°F (24°C), and you can gradually lower humidity as the plants grow.

7. Flowering stage:

• For photoperiod plants, switch to a 12/12 light cycle (12 hours light, 12 hours dark) to trigger flowering.

• Remove male plants to avoid pollination and seed production.

• Try low-stress training techniques like LST or Scrog to boost yield.

• Consider using an organic budding amendment like GIRL FLOWER POWER (by Nature’s Living Soil).

Flowering stage: Keep temps at 65-80°F (18-27°C) and humidity at 40-50%. Aim for 75°F (24°C) during the day and 68°F (20°C) at night. Lower humidity helps prevent mold and other issues during flowering.

8. Pruning and plant maintenance:

• Remove dead or yellowing leaves for better airflow and to avoid mold or pests.

• Prune selectively to encourage growth where you want it.

9. Harvest time:

• Monitor trichomes with a magnifying glass or microscope; harvest when trichomes are cloudy and some have turned amber.

• Cut branches and remove large fan leaves.

• Trim remaining leaves and place trimmed buds on drying racks.

• During harvest, keep plants in a cool, dry environment with temps of 60-70°F (15-21°C) and humidity of 45-55% to preserve bud quality.

10. Drying and curing:

• Hang trimmed buds in a dark, well-ventilated room with temps of 60-70°F (15-21°C) and humidity levels of 45-55%.

• Dry buds for 7-14 days, or until stems snap when bent.

• Place dried buds in airtight jars, opening them for a few minutes daily to let in fresh air for the first two weeks, and then less frequently as time goes on. Cure for at least 2-4 weeks, but the longer, the better!

And that's it! Follow these steps, and you'll be well on your way to growing some amazing cannabis using Nature's Living Soil. Remember, we're here to help you along the way. Happy growing!
