Are you ready to grow healthier, more productive plants with Nature's Living Soil? Whether you're nurturing your first tomato plant, cultivating vibrant flowers, or growing your favorite herbs, our guide makes it simple. Using living soil is eco-friendly, supports robust plant growth, and enhances flavor and yields. Follow these easy steps for a thriving garden!
1. Gather Your Essentials:
High-quality seeds or seedlings (e.g., tomatoes, herbs, or flowers)
Nature's Living Soil Concentrate (Original, Autoflower, or Vegan)
Organic potting soil
Planting containers (at least 3 gallons; 7 gallons for plants grown from seed to harvest with minimal intervention)
Watering can or system
Grow lights (for indoor gardening)
pH meter
Moisture meter
Thermometer and hygrometer
Ventilation system (for indoor setups)
Pruning shears
Drying racks (optional, for post-harvest drying)
2. Germinate Your Seeds:
Soak seeds in water for 12–24 hours or until they sink.
Place seeds between moist paper towels and store in a warm, dark place.
Check daily; once taproots are ¼–½ inch long, they’re ready for planting.
Maintain a temperature of 70–80°F (21–27°C) and humidity of 70–90% for optimal germination.
3a. Setting Up Containers with the Living Soil Method:
Use a high-quality soil mix with good drainage and aeration, like Coco Loco.
Mix 3.2 ounces of Nature’s Living Soil concentrate per gallon of container volume.
Combine thoroughly in a large container or wheelbarrow to create your super soil.
Fill the container with the soil mix and create a small hole in the center, filling it with regular potting soil as a buffer zone.
Plant your seed or seedling in the buffer zone and water gently.
3b. Or, Using the Super Soil Method:
Follow the same soil preparation steps but fill the bottom third of your container with the super soil mix to create a nutrient reservoir.
Fill the top two-thirds with the base soil to prevent nutrient burn.
Plant your seed, seedling, or transplant in the base soil layer.
4. Optimize Lighting and Temperature:
Indoor growers: Set up grow lights tailored to your plant's needs.
Maintain temperatures of 68–77°F (20–25°C) during vegetative growth and 64–75°F (18–24°C) during flowering or fruiting.
Aim for humidity levels of 40–60% for vegetative growth and 40–50% during flowering or fruiting.
5. Watering and Monitoring pH:
Use dechlorinated water with a pH of 6.0–7.0 (aim for 6.5).
Avoid over-watering; let the top inch of soil dry before watering again.
Adjust watering as plants grow and use a moisture meter to maintain ideal conditions.
Add Soil Revival to your watering routine for an extra microbial boost.
6. Vegetative Growth Stage:
Provide 16–18 hours of light daily for indoor plants.
Monitor temperature, humidity, and pH levels.
Use compost tea or top-dress with Nature's Living Soil concentrates for extra nutrients.
7. Flowering or Fruiting Stage:
For fruiting plants like tomatoes, adjust light exposure or natural sunlight conditions as needed.
Prune plants to encourage airflow and direct growth toward fruiting areas.
Consider using organic amendments like Girl Flower Power to support blooming and fruiting.
8. Pruning and Maintenance:
Remove dead or yellowing leaves to improve airflow and avoid pests.
Prune selectively to focus growth on the most productive areas.
9. Harvest Time:
For tomatoes, pick when the fruit is fully colored and slightly firm to the touch.
For flowers, harvest blooms at their peak for the best color and fragrance.
For herbs, clip stems early in the day for maximum flavor.
10. Drying and Curing:
Dry harvested herbs or flowers in a cool, well-ventilated room with 60–70°F (15–21°C) temperatures and 45–55% humidity.
For tomatoes, let any underripe fruits ripen on the countertop or preserve them as desired.
And that’s it! With Nature’s Living Soil, you’ll have a thriving garden full of vibrant, healthy plants. Whether you’re growing juicy tomatoes, fragrant herbs, or stunning flowers, this guide has you covered. Happy growing!
